Job Description
Several opportunities have arisen within the Business Services Team for committed and flexible individuals to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Early Help & Safeguarding service as below.
You will be joining a friendly team of experienced Business Services Assistants. The role is varied, fast-paced and the ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines is essential.

Post 1 - 37 hours, Safeguarding, permanent based at Rink House, Swadlincote
Post 2 - 37 hours, permanent, Children with Disabilities Service, due to be based at The Hub, South Normanton
Post 3 - 37 hours, Safeguarding, permanent based at The Hub, South Normanton
Post 4 - 18.5 hours, Safeguarding, permanent based at Mercian Close, Erewash
Post 5 - 18.5 hours, Safeguarding, permanent based at Clay Cross Area Office
Post 6 - 37 hours, Safeguarding, permanent based at The Quad, Chesterfield
What will I be doing (posts 1 - 6):
- Undertaking a wide variety of administrative tasks.
- Ability to prepare, coordinate and take minutes at a variety of meetings, including confidential meetings.
- Coordination of diaries and meetings.
- Liaising within internal and external families and professionals in person, by telephone and email.
- Utilising the internal client system and general IT support to colleagues.
- Financial tasks will include petty cash, debit card holder/charge card holder. Processing invoices and purchase orders, utilising the various internal financial systems following set financial guidance.
- Coordination, support and assistance to recruitment process of operational staff following HR processes.
- Dealing with incoming post and monitoring and actioning tasks in the duty mailbox
- Supporting processes and collection of data around children in care.
- Providing support with building maintenance and H&S compliance.
- Reception cover when necessary.
Post 7 - 37 hours, permanent, Starting Point, based at County Hall , Matlcok
What will I be doing (post 7)
- Staff supervision, overseeing the BSA4 day-to-day tasks to ensure these are completed efficiently and effectively and support with performance and attendance management of business services colleagues.
- Organising and taking minutes for strategy meetings
- Due to the nature of these roles, you will need emotional resilience as you will, at times, hear distressing information.
Post 8 - 37 hours, permanent, Stronger Families South Team, based at Mercian Close, Erewash.
What will I be doing (post 8)
- Supporting the operational staff with their planning and delivery of the Stronger Families programme across the County.
- Undertaking a wide variety of administrative tasks.
Post 9 - 37hours, permanent, Family Help Team, based at Clay Cross Area Office
What will I be doing (post 9)
- Staff supervision, overseeing the BSA4 day-to-day tasks to ensure these are completed efficiently and effectively and support with performance and attendance management of business services colleagues.
- Contribute to and facilitate Induction Programme for new staff.
- Providing support with building maintenance and health and safety compliance.
- Undertaking a wide range of administrative tasks.
- Utilising the internal client system and general IT support.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Excellent IT skills, which includes the use of Microsoft packages.
- An ability to supervise staff
- An ability to work as part of a team undertaking a wide range of administrative duties.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- An ability to interpret information and analyse data.
- Assist and support with streamlining processes and implementation
- An understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and Data Protection.
- Previous financial experience would be beneficial.
- NVQ Level 2 qualification or relevant office experience.
