Legal Assistant (Rights of Way)

Derbyshire County Council is currently seeking a skilled and motivated legal assistant to join our legal team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and progressive local authority, providing legal advice and support to the council. Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Investigation of claims made under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
  • Preparation of reports on investigated claims
  • Arranging and attending public inquiries

What skills and experience do you need to have:

  • Experience of researching and analysing information.
  • A reasonable understanding of Rights of Way law and the principles of the Definitive Map and Statement
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure

Our Legal Team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but we work on a flexible basis which includes options for home working. There'll be an opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
