We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed leader who has high aspirations for children and young people within Derbyshire to join our children's services team based within our Front Door - Starting Point.

This role has a key opportunity to enhance safeguarding support to our schools

Purpose of this role:

To lead on the development of an overarching strategic response for safeguarding across schools and to drive that response to significantly improve the outcomes for children and young people.

To lead on a range of strategies and initiatives to support the implementation of safeguarding governance within schools, academies, and independent schools, working in partnership with head teachers, senior leaders, and governors.

To support Head Teachers, designated leads, senior leaders, and governors to deliver quality services through the provision of expert advice, guidance and support.

You will be based at County Hall, Matlock.Starting Point is co-located with colleagues from Police, Probation, and health services.

What will you be doing?

•Support in co-ordination of information and outcomes arising from reviews and significant incidents

•Support to designated school leads through partnership annual forums

•Engagement with the educational subgroup of the local partnership

•Designated Safeguarding Leads and Head Teacher briefings - through jointly agreed topics between social care and schools and learning

•Quality assurance activities, such as sampling referrals and engagement in the multi-agency audit activity.

•Support to schools in their completion of the section 175 safeguarding audit.
