Job Description

The Governors of Holly House School are looking to appoint an experienced School Business Assistant (Clerk to Governors).

Holly House is a Local Authority Residential Special School for children aged 7 to 14 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties or Severe Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.

We are looking for someone with a good working knowledge of Governing Board procedures and a willingness to contribute to the smooth running of meetings. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated with relevant experience and good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a positive attitude to personal development and training. As with all roles in school it is also essential to possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality. The post requires attendance at up to 4 Full Governing Body Meetings and 7 Committee meeting per year. This will involve taking minutes, circulation of reports, preparation of letters and other specific duties for which liaison with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors is essential.

The successful candidate will become a vital member of our dedicated, efficient and friendly team of governors and must be able to start as soon as possible.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
