Senior Performance and Policy Officer

Matlock/Hybrid

£37,339 to £40,638 - Plus market leading package (see below)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Strategy and Policy Team for a dynamic and committed individual to support the Council's performance management and strategic planning.

To play a key role in implementing the Council's Performance Management Framework, with a focus on producing performance reports and monitoring information, to ensure the Council effectively manages its performance and to support strategic decision making. A further aspect of this role will be to support the Council's integrated strategic planning approach.

What will I be doing:

·Liaising with Strategy colleagues and departments on the development and maintenance of the Outcome and Performance Frameworks

·Developing and promoting the use of the Council's performance management system and leading the maintenance of its content

·Producing and co-ordinating regular reporting and monitoring of performance against Council and Service Plans and the Performance Framework, and supporting the review of performance by senior managers and elected members

·Supporting the Council's integrated strategic planning approach, and the development of the Council Plan and annual refresh, working collaboratively across Council departments.

·Co-ordinating and ongoing development of departmental Service Planning on behalf of the Council, liaising with, senior managers and officers in departments

·Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of current national issues and strategic developments, to support effective strategic planning.

What skills and experience do you need to have:

·Experience of producing accurate and engaging performance reports and monitoring information to assist an organisation to manage its performance

·Experience of researching, analyising, managing, visualising and disseminating information from a range of sources - turning insight into intelligence

·High level of numeracy and written and verbal communication skills that lead to high levels of performance.

·Advanced level of ICT literacy

·Be enthusiastic, versatile and self-motivated with the ability to work well as part of a team

·Confidence to work under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously

·Educated to level 5 or above in a relevant field or equivalent significant experience of working in relevant role with a proven record of success.

Our Strategy team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but as part of our Modern Ways of Working programme we are currently working on a hybrid basis of a minimum of one day in the office each week. There'll be an opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
