Matlock/Hybrid 

Salary £37,339 - £40,638 (plus an additional £3,790 market supplement) per annum pro-rata. The National pay rise for 2024 is pending which will further increase the salary offered.

Derbyshire County Council is recruiting a Senior Contract and Compliance Manager. we are looking for an initiative-taking, positive individual from a procurement or contract management background seeking the next challenge in their career.

Working within the Council's Procurement & Commercial function you will lead on the design and implementation of a new Contract Management Framework. The role is also responsible for developing, implementing, and managing compliance related policies and procedures across the Contract Management lifecycle.

Reporting to the Principal Procurement & Contract Compliance Manager, you will be part of a newly created team responsible for procurement and contract management compliance throughout the organisation in readiness for the new Public Procurement Act in 2025. You will be the 'go-to' person for specialist best practice advice as well as training for business partners.

You will need to have exceptional commercial, communication and people skills and ideally be a self-starter, capable of delivering high quality, complex work with minimum supervision. You will build and sustain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and external suppliers delivering effective, value for money and high-quality contract commitments.

Applicants should have an advanced understanding of contract management and procurement processes, knowledge, and experience of these within a public sector environment would be helpful.

The successful candidate will line manage a team of Compliance and Business Services Assistants and deputise for the Principal Procurement and Compliance Manager in their absence.

This role attracts a market supplement. This is a separate payment made in addition to the normal salary as detailed above. All market supplement payments are reviewed 6 months prior to their proposed end date to determine whether the supplement should continue.
