Job Description
We are looking for an individual with an enthusiastic and flexible "can do" approach to work to join us as a Civil Engineering Technician. You would be expected to work under your own initiative, to work equally as part of a team or individually. We would like someone who has a willingness to improve their personal development, with Durham County Council supporting you to further development opportunities.
The Parking and Transport Infrastructure team manages, and is responsible for, the 5 bus stations, 3 park and ride sites and multi storey car parks, surface level car parks and on street parking bays ensuring the locations are operational and compliant. You will introduce, manage and maintain engineering schemes for parking, traffic management and transport infrastructure schemes.
You will join the award winning Parking and Transport Infrastructure team, who won a national award at the British Parking Awards 2023 for 'Outstanding Car Park Operator' and in 2024 for 'Back Office Team'.WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will be required to undertake a variety of design, data collection and administrative duties relating to traffic management, facilities management, road safety engineering and/or transport planning.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need a NVQ Level 3 in Civil Engineering or equivalent or be currently working towards the qualification.
You will have experience of producing scaled and detailed technical drawings to accompany engineering briefs.
You should have the ability to communicate effectively as well as being able to work under own initiative, under pressure and meet deadlines.
