Higher Level Teaching Assistant Grade 7 £27,803 to £31,364 pro rata Permanent Required as soon as possible Lumley Junior School (part of Lumley Primary Federation) is a vibrant, friendly and caring school with high academic and pastoral standards. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and skilled individual to take on the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant to provide PPA cover for classes, and targeted support and interventions. Responsibilities will include: providing short-term cover of classes - both in planned and in unexpected non-timetabled situations, including PPA cover working collaboratively with the teaching team to support the National Curriculum, planning and managing resources, raising standards in learning, and development, delivering targeted interventions. Successful applicants will: have recent experience in a HLTA role, which has given you an up-to-date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum, possess knowledge of Intervention strategies, be able to demonstrate a positive impact on pupil development, be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable, hold a relevant childcare qualification at Level 4 or above. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks' pay Term time only plus two additional weeks' pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of 'teaching' weeks - 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD - 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave.
