37 hours per week (term time only + 1 week)
The Emotional Wellbeing & Effective Learning Team are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual with good interpersonal and communication skills to join the team. You would be joining a highly valued team that provides a wide range of support, development and intervention programmes within schools, working closely with our colleagues in the SEND and Inclusion Service.
We are based at the Education Development Centre in Spennymoor.
You will need to be an experienced teaching assistant and have considerable experience of working in schools or other settings with children who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The role will involve delivering support and intervention to children within their own school settings or at one of our small offsite placements, either one to one or in small groups as well as supporting the development of school-based TAs and project work within the team.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
This is a key post within the Emotional Wellbeing and Effective Learning (EWEL) Team, which is part of the Educational Psychology Service. The role of this multi-disciplinary team is to improve the wellbeing, achievement and resilience of socially and emotionally vulnerable young people; and to support schools to develop their capacity to effectively meet the needs of vulnerable learners.
The team provide:
- Assessment, screening and consultation in relation to the social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs of children within school contexts
- Advice and consultation in relation to how SEMH needs impact on learning and inclusion
- Intervention at individual, group and whole class levels; and school development support
- NNEB
- Cache Level 3
- NVQ Level 3 (Social Care),
- NVQ/BTEC (Youth and Social Care) or equivalent
