Teaching Assistant Grade 3 £23,114 - £23,893 pro rata Required from 4th November 2024 (or sooner if available) until 31 July 2025, further to review 37 hours per week / Term Time Only plus 2 weeks We are looking for someone with a passion and commitment to working with children to join our school as a temporary teaching assistant. The successful candidate will be well-organised, reliable, have excellent communication skills and be able to work flexibly, to meet the needs of the school to raise standards. The post will require a person with the skills to support from Early Years (including in our Nursery) to Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will: • support the inclusive ethos of our friendly school and have ambition for each child to achieve their best • be committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all our pupils • be an outstanding, creative, enthusiastic practitioner, who will support the excellent work of our committed team throughout the school • have the skills and knowledge to work with children from Early Years to Key Stage 2 • demonstrate high standards of classroom practice, to promote and develop their learning • have a good understanding of current educational thinking and initiatives • be a caring and understanding person, who enjoys working with children and is committed to supporting high standards and enjoyment for learning • have the ability to work in a close team to achieve the best for our children and the school community • be able to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the school The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification, in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Applicants should have the appropriate qualifications -: NNEB, NVQ 3 or CACHE level 3 or BTEC Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline 5 GCSE's (including Maths and English) grades A-C Valid first aid certificate or willingness to undergo training for this qualification. Applicants must hold a qualification that meets the approved 'full and relevant' criteria for Early Years qualifications and inclusion in staffing ratios. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks' pay Term time only plus two additional weeks' pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of 'teaching' weeks - 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD - 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example: Calculation for employees with less than 5 years' service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments Calculation for employees with more than 5 years' service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 48 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and, if successful, you will need to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure.
