Midday Assistant

5 hours per week 38 weeks per year - Start time between 11:40 - 12:40

Scale 2, Point 3-4 (£22,737-£23,114) depending on experience £11.79 per hour £2563.42 actual salary

Start date: Immediately

We are looking to appoint two midday assistants to join our school team to provide lunchtime supervision in the dinner hall, classrooms, playground and field across the two key stages. This can involve supervison in the dinner hall with school dinners or packed lunches to working with the play leaders in the playgroud organising games. Positive lunchtimes lead to effective afternoon learning and so the successful candidate will need to be:

*be positive and have a passion for supporting young children;

*have a high level of empathy and compassion;

*have the ability to form positive relationships with colleagues, children and parents;

*be able to or be willing to learn to support children's special educational needs, including social & emotional;

*be prepared to take on any educational training as required (funded and supported by the school);

*calm in challenging situations and work closely as part of a team; liaise with and report to the class teacher;

* able to think on their feet and deal with multiple tasks.
