Are you someone who is skilled in moving and handling people, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills?

We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, and self-motivated people, to join our newly appointed Single-handed care team in undertaking assessments to look at peoples moving and handling needs to ensure their safety and provide a cost-effective service provision.

About the Role

We have a strong team of Occupational Therapists and Community Support Workers who are passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities and long-term needs. Our single-handed care team works with individuals and care agencies to ensure care provision is suitable, safe, and cost effective.

We are looking for people who have a proven history of confidently and efficiently moving and handling people with disabilities and long-term needs, ensuring their comfort and safety. You will understand the role of equipment in supporting safe moving and handling and be able to undertake dynamic risk assessments on it's use. You will be able to communicate confidently and clearly with customers, families, care providers and colleagues, whilst maintaining and building these relationships. If issues arise you will use your skills of diplomacy and persuasion to navigate challenging situations and apply assertiveness and conflict management skills to resolve issues effectively. Being proficient in prioritising tasks and manage time effectively to meet the demands of the role is a key skill for this work. About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Hold a Level 2 in Maths and English
  • Have relevant experience of working with adults in a social care setting and of working with other agencies within a fieldwork environment.
  • Understand the need to undertake need and risk assessments and the issues/needs that adults and their families/carers may have.
  • Have a good understanding of social care organisations and their roles and responsibilities as part of the wider community and voluntary sector.
  • Be a confident communicator who is skilled in negotiation, persuasion, assertiveness, and conflict management, and able to build effective working relationships.
  • Be able to recognise the limits of own accountability and responsibility, and to seek appropriate support and advice when required.
  • Be able to manage a caseload and work to clear objectives.
