This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Lincolnshire County Council's Design Services Team as an Engineer on a Career Grade Opportunity. We are delighted to be offering 2 Career Grade opportunities, and we would welcome applications from candidates at any level of their career from; just starting out/entry level, up to experienced engineer level or anywhere in between.

The Career Grade Engineer role involves active participation in Bridges / Structures projects. You will engage in all stages of project delivery, from inception through to completion, and contribute to the management of highway infrastructure assets, including asset-related work programmes including routine structural inspections. Throughout, you will uphold and promote TSP as a hub of technical excellence.

You will be guided by a dedicated manager who is focused on creating a personalised training program for you. The Structures team at TSP are responsible for the inspection and maintenance of over 4000 structures including Bridges, culverts, footbridges retaining walls. The role will also involve the design and supervision of construction works of your projects, so you really see a project from inception to completion. The team are also responsible for other duties including routing abnormal loads, submersible pumps, dealing with utility companies and also safety barriers within the County. So the workload can be varied to broaden your experience.

You'll be joining a team rich in expertise, eager to support your development and help you grow. Our group consists of a blend of seasoned professionals and newer recruits, bringing a dynamic range of perspectives. Social events outside of working hours are encouraged which could be a drink at the pub/ out for a meal or a sporting event. Our social outings are not mandatory but we do want you to feel that you are the part of the team and join us if you can.

You need to have a positive attitude and be able to work on your own, as well as part of a team. You will have knowledge and experience of Bridges / Structures and/or the operation, maintenance, management and construction of Bridges / Structures.

We operate a hybrid working model where in a typical week, your presence will be required 2 to 3 days in Lancaster House, Lincoln, when the team come together. On occasion this commitment may extend when Service needs dictate. You'll, of course, spend time both onsite and working from home too. Even when you're not in the office, you'll stay connected with your team throughout the day via email and Microsoft Teams. If you prefer working in the office, you can use our desk booking system to collaborate with other team members in person each day.
