JOB TITLE: Senior Manager, Flash Reporting and Planning - 14 month FTC

LOCATION(S): Bristol

SALARY: £83,411 - £98,138

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in the above office

About this opportunity

The Commercial Banking business provides a customer centric approach for UK businesses and businesses with strong links to the UK. Through the network of relationship managers CB provides clients with authoritative advice on their businesses and the products they need to help them secure growth, balance risk and improve efficiency.

Within CB Finance, the Flash and Planning team deliver financial planning, results and analysis including business insight across Commercial Banking. The team produce income modelling in addition to providing challenge and insight into the CB forecast plans whilst continuously improving the underlying processes.

The key responsibilities of the role are to deliver the monthly flash processes, flash to final, forecasts, 4YOP and Reporting on performance to the Divisional FD, BU CEOs and Group Finance, all supported by robust and insightful analysis.

This role will continue to build and maintain a successful team and ensure colleagues are led and developed effectively with our culture and vision embedded through transparent leadership. Your team will act as a conduit to provide a full suite of Finance services to the Finance Business Partners and work closely with Centres of Excellence on performance issues, business priorities and changing strategy.

Success will come from being adept at building collaborative relationships across the organisation and having excellent influencing skills, aligning colleagues at all levels to achieve our goals. It will also be driven by having a clear understanding of the business strategy and the market context that crafts the medium-term plan, coupled with strong experience of plan financials, underlying business drivers and risks / opportunities.

Day to day you'll be;

  • Supporting the coordination, consolidation and delivery of key activities (Flash, 4 year plans, quarterly forecasts and LVs)
  • Modelling and working closely with the FBPs to deliver insight & analysis of Commercial Banking financial performance
  • Management/co-ordination of PAX submissions into Group Finance for both Flash and Forecasting
  • Providing MI and insight to support a wide range of partners, including Finance Business Partners
  • Delivering operational improvement and using capacity released to centralise additional process type activity

What you'll need

  • Line management experience, mentoring and developing teams to excel, growing productivity and advocacy
  • Be a qualified accountant with post qualified experience
  • Consistent track record in planning / forecasting
  • Credentials that demonstrate working in a time-pressured and dynamic environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experienced in developing and significantly improving processes including the Planning Analytics tool
  • Excellent communication skills, keeping it simple and providing valuable insight.
