Who You Are
- Understanding of safe manual handling principles.
- Experience with multi-drop deliveries and working with people with disabilities.
- Capable of driving and operating vans up to 3.5 tonnes with a clean driving licence.
- Proficient in safe working practices and possess proven communication and organisational skills.
- Able to work effectively within a team, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Possess diplomacy and tact when interacting with clients.
- Physically capable of performing a range of manual handling tasks.
- Commitment to the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Familiar with mobile technology/apps.
- Able to pass a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
What the Job Involves
- Collecting used equipment such as hoists, beds, and shower chairs from various locations including client homes, hospital departments, and GP clinics.
- Delivering and installing equipment into residential properties within the City of Cardiff.
- Transferring equipment between the two main warehouses and various satellite stores throughout the city.
- Storing used equipment in a dedicated area until collected by a cleaning/refurbishment contractor.
- Working as part of a two-person team for more physically demanding tasks like bed installations.
- Adhering to the organisation's Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies.
- Working within the operational hours from 8am to 4pm Monday - Thursday and 8am to 3:30pm on Friday.
