Who You Are

We are seeking a dedicated and talented individual with experience in financial planning and management to support Slough's financial turnaround. The ideal candidate will excel in a challenging environment, have a knack for driving genuine change and transformation, and be comfortable working closely with senior leaders and finance business partners. You should be available to attend Slough offices two to three times a week.

What the Job Involves

This role supports the Strategic Finance Manager - Financial Planning/MTFS in leading the development and delivery of medium-term financial planning and the coordination of the Council's annual budget process. Responsibilities include aligning financial activities with corporate and service planning processes and key strategies such as the Treasury Management Strategy. You will play a crucial role in achieving long-term financial sustainability for the Borough, coordinating financial monitoring and reporting, improving current processes, and ensuring financial and service delivery alignment. The position offers an initial contract through March 2025 with an estimated day rate of £450-£550 (inside IR35), depending on experience.
