    The South Cotswolds agency is one of largest across our entire UK agency network. Consisting of almost 40 staff, based across 3 sites (Chippenham, Wotton-under-Edge, Swindon), and run by a quad partnership of Agents of NFU Mutual, this is a high-performing agency that remains at the fore-front of our network in every aspect.

    Joining the agency in the role of Agricultural Director, and based out of the Chippenham office, you will be the lead partner for the agency's Farming & Estates business which makes up a significant proportion of the entire book. This involves leading a small but growing team of staff, setting the strategic direction for this business area, and as importantly, leading from the front on new business development and on-going key account management in this critical client-facing role. It's a perfect blend, juggling planning and strategy with hands-on operational delivery to ensure continued growth of the agency's Farming & Estates business.

    Your experience as a sales leader

    This is a 360-degree leadership opportunity, one that requires a track record in a client-facing, sales / commercial leadership role, not necessarily from the Insurance industry, although that would be advantageous.

    Alternatively, you could be working in a client-facing role in Farming or Agriculture, with exceptional sales / commercial leadership skills and a growth mindset to adapt to our regulated products and services.

    At the very minimum, a personal interest or connection to farming and rural affairs is critical in order to establish your credibility as the agency's Agricultural Director. It will also help with your additional role as Group Secretary for the National Farming Union (NFU).

    Local Group Secretary for the Farming Union

    One of the other aspects of this opportunity is being appointed NFU Group Secretary. With support from the other Group Secretary partners in the South Cotswolds agency, you'll be the collective voice of the Union, bringing the agriculture community together and sharing best-practice and policy updates. With full backing from the NFU, you'll have access to expert advice and specialist support on everything from policy and increasing membership numbers to marketing and media. In this role you're supporting the needs of your local farming community and opening doors to future business opportunities for your agency.
