Job Description

Develop a diverse arts programme, including exhibitions, activities and performances, involving patients, staff and the local community. The programme should be research-based, representing the staff and patient voice, in collaboration with the Head of External Communications, Staff Wellbeing team and Nottingham Hospitals Charity. Build partnership opportunities internally and externally to share the Arts at NUH story, identify opportunities and funding. This would include maintaining current relationships with local universities and educational institutions. Manage the arts budget, including identifying and applying for funding for projects in agreement with Head of External Communications and NUH Charity. Offer arts advice to colleagues across the Trust, including Capital Programmes, ensuring staff and patient voices are represented, costs and logistics are considered. Recruit and manage freelance artists, volunteers and contractors and prepare relevant design briefs, contractual agreements and health and safety risk assessments as required. Curate and maintain the hospital art collection and continue to develop and expand the Arts Trails project. Maintain, develop and promote staff wellbeing initiatives, including the Crafternoon offer, live music performances and dance opportunities. Support with additional awareness weeks and events including (but not limited to): annual public meeting, Dementia Action Week, Carers Week and Patient Experience Week. Commission and produce arts-based resources and packs for use by patients and staff across the Trust. Evaluate projects and provide reports as required for future planning. Produce an annual report as an overview of all projects completed. Develop an Arts Programme Strategy alongside the Head of External Communications, looking ahead to the future of the programme, what we want to achieve, how we want to achieve it and how we will evaluate it. Work with the wider NUH Communications and Engagement and Nottingham Hospitals Charity Marketing Team to create a clear communications plan and to ensure that the arts provision achieves positive publicity and maximise potential for fundraising Be the representative and lead voice for NUH in the National Arts in Hospitals Network Provide suitable training, induction and support programs for external artists in line with trust policies.
