This job description is intended as a guide to the main responsibilities of the post and not as an exhaustive list of duties and tasks. The post holder may be required to undertake other appropriate duties which are not listed below, at the direction of the Clinical Lead or a Psicon Director. The job description may be amended from time to time after consultation with the post holder. The job description will be reviewed at staff appraisals. Principle duties and responsibilities 1. To provide effective, efficient and high-quality clinical support to the Directors and other clinicians. 2. To provide clinical services under supervision to support and enhance care of clients and patients including undertaking assessments and providing psychological interventions. 3. To provide competent clinical administrative support. 4. To contribute to the smooth running of the business of Psicon. Clinical services Conduct psychological assessments including semi-structured interviews with patients and applying self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect observations. Undertake clinical psychometric and psychological testing as directed and under the supervision of Chartered Psychologist. Assist in formulation and management of treatment programmes. Attend treatment sessions as observer and under the supervision of Chartered Psychologist. Carry out psychological treatment as directed and under the supervision of Chartered Psychologist. Contribute to rehabilitation programmes. Attend and contribute to clinicians briefings including case reviews. To liaise (as necessary) with the systems involved with the children and young people under the care of the service (such as parents, carers, schools, social workers, etc) to ensure a holistic approach to care To contribute to specialist neurodevelopmental assessments (e.g. carrying out school observations, interviews with school staff, administration of assessment tools such as the ADOS-2 or WISC-V) To plan, organise and co-teach psycho-educational courses and groups with appropriately qualified professional staff To conduct literature searches, collate audit and outcome evidence, analyse relevant data and produce reports to inform and enhance care delivered by the service. To have a good understanding of risk assessments and safeguarding issues and seek the support of a qualified clinician if risk issues are identified. To attend and contribute to clinical meetings within the service. To support the delivery of evidence based psychological interventions for clients. Clinical Administrative Support Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with BPS professional codes of practice. Prepare own correspondence and for Directors/clinicians/operations Manager. Prepare test materials and visual aids. Administer and add, information to clients files using the relevant IT systems. Collect and analyse data and produce reports. To be acquainted with, implement and maintain all relevant Service policies and procedures. Regularly review test material and prepare test batteries for clinicians. Supervision Receive regular weekly clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines. To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice Participate in internal and external CPD training as required. To participate fully in the Services performance review and personal development planning process on an annual basis. Audit and Training Design, implement and conduct audits and research projects. To set up databases, spreadsheets and using advanced IT skills in evaluation audit and research. Research and develop evidence based psychological practices to assist other clinicians including literature searches. Arrange and participate in the administration of courses (including preparation of course material). Contribute to training programme. Communications Communicate effectively with patients, employees, clinicians, Director, corporate clients, GPs and medico legal companies, insurers etc. Take and act upon instructions given by clinicians and/or management/director team. Deal with and act upon general telephone and in person enquiries regarding clinical support, clinical services, business development (as required). Check emails regularly and act upon/reply/distribute. To report immediately any incidents affecting staff, users and visitors on service property in accordance with service policies.
