Job Description

Duties will include, but are not limited to: Managing the hastening, receipt, despatch and documentation of dental prosthetic appliances, ensuring timely appointments for patients as necessary. Coordinating building faults and arrange repair technician visits as required. Ensuring surgeries are prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations. Reviewing the appointment diary at the start of each planned procedure and ensure the appropriate instrument sets are selected. Providing chairside support to the operator for all operative procedures. The level of security needed is BPSS. Candidates who hold the qualifications but are not yet registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) are eligible to apply for this vacancy. However, if found successful it is a requirement that you are registered with the GDC prior to starting in the post. Access to the NHS pension scheme is available to the successful candidate. There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home. Due to COVID 19, there is now a requirement for dental clinical staff to be fit tested for a FFP3 mask, which has to be worn when managing a patient who is undergoing an aerosol generating procedure (AGP) the successful candidate will be fit tested prior to commencing employment. The successful applicant will have contact with patients and service users. In-line with the NHS England approach, MOD is in the process of making full vaccination a condition of deployment for its healthcare workers employed across the UK.
