Job summary
This is a temporary chef position at Barchester Healthcare, a leading UK healthcare provider with over 224 homes and hospitals. The role involves working in the kitchen to create nutritious and flavorful meals for residents, while maintaining high standards of food quality and hospitality.
Main duties of the job
As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and deliver hotel/restaurant-quality meals without the long shifts and split schedules typical of the industry. You will assist the Head Chef in developing menus, working with residents to cater to their preferences, and leading and inspiring the kitchen team. The role requires a personable approach, strong culinary skills, and a good understanding of nutrition and HACCP.

NEED TO HAVE
A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent Experience in helping lead and inspire a team A good understanding of nutrition Experience of working with fresh seasonal food The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home Good understanding of HACCP

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- You will need to hold a City & Guilds, NVQ, or SVQ qualification (or equivalent) in catering, as well as experience in a chef role and working with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The ability to create a warm, welcoming environment and manage a team is also essential.
