St. Luke's Hospice is a local charity providing compassionate care to people whose illnesses are no longer curable. Our mission is to promote dignity in dying and empower people to make the choices they want, from the moment they are diagnosed.
Currently, we are seeking two dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide maternity cover in Hospice Community Services and help us provide the highest quality of care to our patients.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert advice related to specific conditions or treatment pathways, conduct research and implement new changes that can enhance the patients' health quality. You will be responsible for prescribing medication, assessing, diagnosing and managing patient problems, providing education and supportive counselling to the patients' and families. Proven experience in a similar role and the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential.

Our care considers peoples medical, spiritual and emotional needs, including support for loved ones and carers. Anyone living in Basildon and Thurrock can call on us 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Working alongside other healthcare providers, our specialist services are available at the hospice, out in the community or in a persons place of residence. Together, we fulfil peoples choices at the end of their life. We are a charity and the services we provide are free. We rely on voluntary income from local people to deliver the care they deserve.

Qualifications

- NMC Registration
Experience

- Proven experience of specialist palliative care
- Excellent communication and patient-focussed approach
- Strong assessment, clinical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- A current and valid registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC)
