Job Description

Deliver excellent pre-hospital critical care to unwell and injured patients of all ages, alongside ambulance and allied emergency service partners and local healthcare stakeholders. Provide high-quality supervision, training, assessment, mentorship and support to all non-consultant doctors and paramedics within the service. Provide consultant presence, leadership and participation in the clinical governance activities of the service including, but not limited to, clinical governance meetings, team inset days and the Consultant of the Week (CoW) rota and responsibilities. As the service evolves, an on-call function may be incorporated (with appropriate job planning). Participate in regular case-review meetings. Participate in continuing professional development in pre-hospital medicine and related topics to demonstrate currency and commitment to the specialty and ensure that EHAAT clinicians are nationally and internationally recognised as experts in pre-hospital emergency critical care. Participate in a service-specific annual appraisal as part of wider appraisal processes maintaining registration and revalidation with the General Medical Council. Act in accordance with relevant national standards, local and regional protocols and provide medical care consistent with the guidelines of Good Medical Practice as defined by the General Medical Council. Support and contribute to the audit and research activity of the organisation. Lead and contribute to a portfolio of clinical and non-clinical administration and service development which would be annually reviewed and agreed as part of the service-specific appraisal and personal development plan. Demonstrate and be an ambassador for the EHAAT values. Contribute to the charitable activities of the organisation including, but not limited to, income generation /media /PR /marketing activity. Collaborate with and support the EHAAT Centre for Excellence (C4X) workstreams and educational activities, working alongside the multidisciplinary team to innovate, educate and research. Actively monitor and protect the reputation of the organisation as a safe and effective health care provider and contribute to processes that support and ensure our Outstanding status with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
