Job Description

Undertaking necessary duties to ensure the upkeep of a clean and hygienic environment within the health hub and associated areas, and may also entail specialised cleaning tasks. To be responsive to service needs as they arise and to constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service. All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security and Company and Trust policies and procedures, including infection control. The post holder may work in an environment where they could be exposed to sensitive circumstances. The post holder will be exposed to some unpleasant environmental conditions. The effective cleaning and maintenance of all hygiene standards within a designated area and all of its facilities. Comply with the work schedules and using appropriate methods of work, ensuring any service level agreement and quality standards are met in line with Company and Trust policies. Collection and safe removal of non-clinical and/or clinical waste within your area of work in line with Company procedures and Trust policies. Safe storage and maintenance of appropriate stock and supplies ensuring that these are available as required within the designated area. Ensure confidentiality, privacy and dignity is maintained at all times in accordance with the Data Protection Act and in line with Company and Trust policy, where appropriate. Conduct yourself in a professional manner whilst on Trust and Company premises. Ensure you understand and comply with all relevant current legislation as set out in Company and Trust policies and procedures and the related documentation, including the Employee Terms and Conditions Handbook, Employee Health, Safety and Environmental Handbook andsecurity procedures. Responsible for securing areas after cleaning as required. Responsible for the security of keys. Use all mechanical and electrical equipment in a correct and safe manner, using appropriate methods of work, following training, including trolleys and cleaning equipment. Maintain a clean, neat and tidy appearance, complying with Company and Trust uniform and hand care guidelines and high standards of personal hygiene. Participate as required, in regular team meetings, performance reviews, job chats, return to work discussions and co-operate with accident and other investigations. Engage in the process to identify your own personal development and training needs and attending agreed training programmes. Report immediately, any faults or defects to Trust or Company equipment or premises, especially those which could be dangerous. Any other duties as may be reasonably requested within the grade of the post.
