Job Description

Provide financial support to the Digital and Transformation PCN Manager with a range of duties to meet the requirements of stakeholders (PCN Board, PCN Pilot Steering Group, Practices other NHS Organisations, Staff, and the Public). Assist in managing the PCN and PCN Pilot finances, maximising income and reducing expenditure Accurately monitor cash flow, forecast, and predict workflow corresponding to income. Review all income and expenditure statements, identifying any inaccuracies and rectifying such issues. Identifies key risks in the areas of responsibility and ensures that these are communicated to budget holders and the Digital and Transformation PCN Manager. Ensure invoices are paid within the given time frame. Ensure that effective financial controls are in place and processes are adhered to Oversee the completion of task lists in line with month end closedown procedures and timetable. Assist in completion of control account reconciliations monthly and investigate any issues for resolution. Assist with monthly claims such as ARRS, keeping records and reconciling claims against funds. Ensure income coding is correct and liaise with accounts to address any issues. Assist with month end processes. Ensure all departmental policies and procedures are adhered to. Support year end audit enquires. Perform checks on payments and reconciliation of funds received to funds paid. Analyse spending and prepare reports. Answer queries from Practices. Prepare updates on the financial position or the PCN or PCN Pilot. Keep records and update spreadsheets with finance information. Communication Communicate effectively, either in person or via the telephone and liaising with internal staff within the team. Handle sensitive information in a tactful and professional manner. Be a team player and collaborate with colleagues within the PCN, Pilot and Practices teams. Respond to frequent financial queries from staff, suppliers, and customers. Planning and Design Plans and prioritises own workload, taking into consideration agreed deadlines. Follow a set of standard procedure notes on a variety of processes, referring to Digital and Transformation PCN Manager as necessary. Management, Training & Leadership Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff development and training. Review current working practices and work with Digital and Transformation PCN Manager to agree and implement changes for improved efficiencies. Digital and Information Oversee the completion of task lists in line with month end, making line manager aware of any issues. Completion of control account reconciliations monthly and investigate any issues for resolution. Ensure income and expenditure coding is correct, ensuring reconciliation to source data. create and update compleex financial spreadsheets
