We provide free specialist care and support to patients with terminal illnesses whilst offering vital emotional support for their families. It's all about giving them the best possible quality of life. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals' medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs. We are looking to recruit a healthcare assistant to join our community-based team in Oxfordshire to support providing holistic, person centred, end of life care to patients in their own homes. As a Healthcare Assistant you will practice empathetic communication with the patient and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner and provide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing. Job Structure: Full Time/Part Time Job Schedule: Night Shifts Salary Information:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 2 £23,615 pro-rated, plus enhancements Mandatory Requirement: You must live within Oxfordshire or just outside the county border. You must hold a driving license and own or have use of a car to travel to patient homes What were looking for: A minimum of six months of recent care delivery experience in a Health or Social Care Environment providing care and caring for dying patients. National Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Health and Social Care or an acceptable alternative qualification. Desirable not Essential Be person-centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them. Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans that meet the complex needs of the person, and those important to them. Thorough understanding of the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual domains of palliative care. Proven understanding the barriers and enablers to good communication and how challenges can be overcome. Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own.
