Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities The successful applicant will provide a high quality and responsive reception service to all patients, carrying out medical reception and administration duties in accordance with practice requirements. General duties will include: Maintaining a presentable image Greeting patients in a friendly, helpful and welcoming manner Booking appointments or signposting patients as required Answering telephones promptly and liaising with patients and outside agencies accordingly Completing patient registrations according to practice policy Processing repeat prescription requests according to practice policy Processing incoming post as required Scanning/workflowing documents according to practice policy Completing IT tasks on Emis/Docman/Accurx Assisting in premises closure where necessary General Comply with all relevant practice procedures Liaise with colleagues where necessary, including nursing and medical staff, reception colleagues and practice manager, following instructions where required Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times Report any identified Health and Safety hazards to the Practice Manager Respect the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients, carers and colleagues Cover sickness/holiday where needed Complete all mandatory training as advised Attend staff meetings where appropriate MAINTAIN STRICT PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY AT ALL TIMES This job description is not exhaustive and may include additional duties as required.
