Are you a dedicated Paediatric Nurse that is passionate about making a difference to the lives of others? We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Nurse to join our service users care team in Leominster. This is a part time, permanent role, offering a competitive pay rate of £37.00 per hour, equivalent to £46,176 per annum, based on 24 hours per week. Meet our service user Freddie is a happy 12-year-old boy who lives with his loving parents and siblings at their home in Leominster. He attends school full time with the support of his care team and in his downtime, enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, bowling, playing games, cooking, going to the park, and listening to music. He also adores animals, so it would be great if you share the same passion, as he has dogs, cats, chickens, and a hamster. Freddie is reliant on his care staff and family to support his mobility and requires assistance to participate in activities. It is important to Freddie and his family that he makes his own decisions and is involved in all aspects of care. Whilst he is unable to communicate verbally, he can express his wants and needs with the help of his communication aids. Our team provides specialist, 24/7 care to manage Freddies clinical needs and this is delivered by our highly skilled Healthcare Assistants on a 2:1 basis throughout the day and a 1:1 basis overnight. About the role Due to the complexities of his care, we are seeking an experienced childrens nurse to join his team in the role of Lead Nurse, on a permanent basis. This is a part time, permanent role working 24 hours per week flexibly, across Monday to Sunday. This could be made up of two 12-hour shifts, or a mixture of shorter shifts. As Lead Nurse you will play a key role in training Freddies team of Healthcare Assistants, ensuring that they have the skills to confidently manage his clinical inventions which includes but is not limited to tracheostomy care, ventilation management and enteral feeding. Key duties of your role will include, but are not limited to: Providing ongoing support and supervision to keep staff up-to-date with best practice guidelines. Delivering clinical training and identifying training needs Liaising with MDTs and attending key meetings where required Completing risk assessments where necessary Carrying out care plan reviews In addition to this, your role will include a mixture of hands-on care, auditing and transcribing of paperwork and MAR charts, checking and ordering of stock and accompanying Freddie to his scheduled appointments. Essential experience required: Current NMC PIN Paediatric Registered Nurse Driver with access to a vehicle Ability to flexibly work flexibly across Monday to Sunday Tracheostomy Care Experience with the following is desirable, however not essential to be successful for this role Ventilation Management Enteral Feeding (Gastrostomy) Bowel Management Intermittent Catheterisation Nebuliser Care Cough Assist Knowledge of Spinal Injury care, Acquired Brain Injury care, and seizure management would also be beneficial. Freddie typically goes to specialist appointments with a Healthcare Assistant from his team, but sometimes you may need to accompany him. This may involve overnight stays away from home on certain occasions.
