The Pharmacist Teaching Fellow is an essential member of a well-established team within undergraduate Medical Education delivery. The Pharmacist Teaching Fellow will co-ordinate with the team to plan, deliver, assess and evaluate medical school education in both the classroom and clinical environment for students across the five years of the MBBS programme. The post holder will be responsible for developing, organising and delivering evidence based teaching sessions, to include practical skills sessions relevant to prescribing and administering medications. The post holder is expected to mentor medical students and provide pastoral support where needed Working collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Lecturers and the Teaching Fellows, they will establish and maintain clinical standards while ensuring that the medical curriculum is being delivered successfully at STSFT. They will have expert knowledge as a clinical pharmacist and will act as both an autonomous practitioner and a source of expertise for students and colleagues on topics such as pharmacology, prescribing and administering medications. The Pharmacist Teaching Fellow will be expected to demonstrate innovative teaching and lecturing skills across a wide range of educational opportunities, including lectures, tutorials, bedside teaching / teaching in clinical areas, mock ward and simulation sessions. The role requires the use of advanced technology with video and live streaming options.
