We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they are likely to die from. The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives. We are seeking a human-centered physiotherapy professional to join the team at our West Midlands Hospice and work toward providing holistic, personalised, specialist care and physiotherapy treatment based on individual needs. As a Physiotherapist you will research and network across the system to understand the wide range of services available to patients and those important to them and work with other providers, supporting the wider system to improve the experience of dying, death, and bereavement. Job Structure: Full Time: 37.5 Hours per Week Job Schedule: Day Shifts You will assume responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based, high quality person-centred physiotherapy care and treatment for people living with a terminal illness. You will delegate as appropriate to other practitioners ensuring they have the capability, knowledge, and expertise to carry out appropriate treatment. What were looking for: HCPC Registered Degree in Physiotherapy Sizable range of post qualification experience including therapeutic, interventional, and supportive treatments Preferably with experience of working in a specialist palliative care setting either with a Hospice or within community settings Understanding of concepts of palliative care and the holistic (physical, psychological, social, spiritual) needs of the person, and those important to them. Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans alongside other healthcare professionals that meets the complex needs of the person, and those important to them. Proven understanding the barriers and enablers to good communication and how challenges can be overcome. Decision making abilities backed with clear rationale. Understanding of local policies and procedures, professional codes of conduct, legal and ethical frameworks in practice. Support the learning and development needs of others through mentorship/supervision.
