Job Description
Deal with telephone and email requests for appointments ensuring that the correct protocols are followed for routine and urgent care Signpost patients to the correct service or clinician Deal with all general enquiries & explain procedures Process new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required Management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately, timely and efficiently Take information from patients regarding transport requirements and add this to the Patient Transport System Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary Open and direct post Photocopy documentation as required Take details of change of details, amend on Emis and notify the secretaries of patients out of the practice area. Charging patients the appropriate amount for private work, providing a receipt to the patient Ensure blood forms are ready for the phlebotomy clinic Greet visitors ensuring that all visitors sign in and direct them to the appropriate person Ensure clinical rooms are set for the beginning of each clinic Open and close the surgery as per the procedure Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times Provide cover for reception during staff absences Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the partners or management team
