Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist for Tissue Viability to work within our team to provide best practice and education and support in all elements of wound care.
As a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist for Tissue Viability, we require you to have experience in managing complex wounds of different aetiologies.
You will manage the Colchester Acute team of Tissue Viability Nurses delivering specialist education and training to other health care professionals and students.
You will lead the team in ensuring the delivery of a high quality, evidence based, Tissue Viability Service.
Main duties of the job
- To work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Tissue Viability at Ipswich Hospital by providing expert specialist advice on tissue viability issues through both direct and indirect patient care. The role will also require cross site working at Colchester Hospital and in the Community, working with the other Harm Free Care Leads at ESNEFT to drive strategic improvement specific to Tissue Viability
- To facilitate evidence based practice on wound management, the prevention and management of pressure ulcers and patient requiring Topical Negative Pressure Therapy.
- Monitor and improve patient outcomes relating to tissue viability through pressure ulcer incidence & pressure relieving equipment audits.
- To assist with the co-ordination and provision of tissue viability education throughout ESNEFT.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse recorded on Part 1 of the NMC register
- Degree in relevant subject or evidence of working at that level
- Teaching and assessing qualification
Desirable
- Management qualification
Experience
Essential
- Proven post registration nursing experience at Band 6 level in acute or community tissue viability setting
- Sound knowledge of current trends within Tissue Viability and Pressure Ulcer prevention
- Experience of facilitating change, improving processes and promoting learning at work

- Ability to undertake research
- Involvement in service review and development
- Ability to undertake audit
- Experience of undertaking sharp debridement
