About Us The Emergency Duty Team is a critical part of our service to children, families and vulnerable adults in Oxfordshire.Our team covers all hours of the week that fall outside of the standard office hours and offers staff a dynamic, fast-paced role responding to those in our communities who require immediate help and support during emergencies out of hours. We are co-located with our police partners at Abingdon Police Station. About the Role As a Senior Practitioner,you will be responsible for delivering the emergency social work response on your shift, providing high quality social work when families need this most during emergencies.You will be part of a wider team, and with the support of your Assistant Team Manager on shift, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding our most vulnerable children, families and adults. This role works on a rota of shifts and therefore candidates must be able to work across the shifts out of hours. About you You will appreciate this is an important and essential service and as such, the role requires a significant level of autonomy and therefore you must have experience gained from a statutory child protection service. You need to be a qualified social worker with Social Work England registration and should besomeone able to manage competing demands, reflective and analytical, and proportionate in your decision-making whilst maintaining a clear focus on the best interests of children and vulnerable adults.
