About the RoleThe Team Manager plays a key role in the service,you will be responsible for the daily operational running of the team.Line managing a team of practitioners (Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Disability Practitioners) and providing support to the two other teams when required.You will be expected to take a lead role on behalf of the Disability Service in some areas of whole service development, we welcome and encourage new thinking and ways of working. About youYou will have an excellent working knowledge of childrens social work practice, and a proven track record in safeguarding children.We recognise the added vulnerability of Disabled Children and the service undertakes and you will be expected to be the operation lead on all aspects of social work practice including: Child in Need, Child Protection, Children subject to PLO and Care Proceedings and Children who we care for (plus young people Leaving Care). The huge variety of work will offer you professional challenges and the chance to develop your social work leadership and management skills, for example in communication with and safeguarding children with additional and complex needs, and in working in partnership with parents and with professionals from many different agencies and discipline.
