Job Description

To be responsible for raising awareness of the volunteer programme in the local community. To plan, organise and evaluate recruitment events to raise awareness of volunteering in the wider community ensuring that participation and engagement continues to be accessible, inclusive and reflective of the communities we serve. To support the Voluntary Services Lead on marketing of the service including working with key internal stakeholders and KCH charity on rebranding and development of promotional films. To understand the gaps in our volunteer pool and develop events and promotional opportunities to engage and recruit volunteers from these groups/communities. To work with the Volunteer Relationship Supervisor to build meaningful relationships with schools and colleges promoting the volunteer service to ensure a constant flow of new volunteers. To engage with various offline and online channels to promote the volunteering programme liaising with the communications team where appropriate. To support the Voluntary Services Lead in updating the intranet, Trust website and volunteer service social media account. To develop, manage and maintain relationships with community partners (voluntary sector, schools), growing the number of specialist volunteers that support our patients. 1. To develop and deliver training to all new volunteers. To deliver the volunteer training programme reviewing it as appropriate to ensure its continuing to meet the needs of the Trust. To support the Voluntary Service Lead in developing a calendar of events. To oversee and manage volunteer recruitment process supporting volunteers through this these when necessary. To continually review training needs with staff and volunteers, identifying gaps in understanding and knowledge and developing sessions to meet this need. 2. To support volunteer service manager in attainment of KPIs for the service To be held accountable for the delivery of own KPIs, ensuring KPI tracker is updated regularly to demonstrate progress. To engage collaboratively with team members to support overall KPI attainment of the service. To engage collaboratively with team to support continuous improvement of the service working towards ensuring Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is of choice for volunteering Any other duties commensurate with the role. Partnerships Internally: Patients, carers and service users. Divisional Directors General Managers Clinical Leads and other consultant and junior medical staff Heads of Nursing, Senior Nurses and other nursing staff Staff within the Service Heads of Departments Trust Board, Executive and Management Team
