Job Description
ROLE OF THE JOB
In this role, you'll take the lead in managing the finance, compliance, and performance reporting for our Strategic Transport Service. Your focus will be on developing and implementing robust financial systems and monitoring frameworks to ensure our projects run smoothly and meet all necessary standards.
You'll be responsible for creating detailed performance reports that help Project Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, and Members make informed decisions. Ensuring that claims and reports to external funding providers are accurate, timely, and of high quality will be a key part of your job.
Managing various funding streams, you'll closely monitor performance, analyse financial data, and take corrective action when needed to keep everything on track. You'll also be the main point of contact for financial audits, working with external bodies to ensure compliance.
In addition, you'll collaborate with internal and external partners to secure funding for transport projects, providing data and analysis to support transport priorities and track the progress of key initiatives.
This is an 18 month fixed-term post, funded until March 2026.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent standard of general education.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, practices and procedures in relation to public sector funding compliance requirements.
- Experience of financial management including data collection, analysis and interpretation for large scale public funded programmes or schemes.
- Experience in drafting, issuing and managing contracts.
