We are looking for a dynamic Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. In this role, you will support various reporting functions and collaborate closely with different areas of the business through effective finance business partnering. This is a great opportunity for someone who is not just focused on numbers but also enjoys building strong relationships and delivering actionable insights that drive business success.

Please note, this is a permanent, full-time role. As part of our Seasalt Connected approach, this role offers flexible arrangements, with a minimum of 2 days per week at our Cornwall Head Office and the remainder working from home or remotely within the UK.

You'll help us by:

You'll play role in conducting analysis and developing tools to enhance the business partnering capabilities, improve financial reporting, and streamlining forecasting processes. You'll work closely with the Commercial Finance Managers, providing essential support in several key areas.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts, as well as preparing monthly reporting packs. You'll deliver clear and actionable insights through analysis and commentary on critical business areas. Additionally, you'll monitor marketing spend against budgets, calculating monthly accruals and prepayments, while collaborating with managers to input into business partnering conversations.

You'll ensure that budget holders have access to accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making. This includes providing budget reports, project appraisals, ROI analysis, and ad-hoc reporting as required. Building strong relationships with senior managers and their teams will be essential to your success, as will ensuring the timely reporting of key deliverables within the finance team.

The skills you'll be sharing with the team:

  • AAT qualified or an ACCA/CIMA studier.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven experience working with large amounts of data.
  • Commercial understanding of the key sales and profit drivers.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to communicate finance data to non-finance professionals to enable the internal customer to assess performance and make future decisions.
  • Ability to exert a wider influence through your findings.
  • Sound problem solving skills.
  • Good financial analysis skills with knowledge of planning and budgeting cycles.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including data modelling experience and some knowledge on how to create meaningful and diligent finance business partner reports from your analysis.
  • You do not see yourself as a 'typical accountant' but a sociable and diligent finance business partner.
  • Honest, respectful, and adaptable with a professional attitude.
  • Innovative and flexible, with a willingness to provide and receive constructive feedback.
