Working in collaboration with the business you will build management reporting and dashboards, design data models and use data and analytics to improve performance and manage risk. You will embrace data-led decision making, creating insights that help Seasalt make informed business decisions.

This role is offered as a full-time opportunity and is based remotely within the UK, with occasional travel to our Cornwall head offices, as needed.

You'll help us by:

  • Applying basic tools and techniques to analyse data and synthesise findings.
  • Translating and communicating accurate information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define data, reporting, alerting and dashboard requirements, understanding and capturing key business drivers.
  • Identifying, collecting and migrating data to and from a range of systems whilst being aware of good practice data governance and data management principles.
  • Producing data models including Power BI Semantic models, Tabular or other models as required, and ensuring these are scalable and secure.
  • Visualising data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users.
  • Ensuring dashboards, reports and alerts drive action through clear signposting for trends, exceptions or forecasted outcomes and are easy to use/interpret.
  • Designing, automating, launching, maintaining and enhancing dashboards, reports, KPIs and alerts using Power BI, Pyramid, Excel or other tools.
  • Assisting departments in streamlining and automating their data-led processes.
  • Providing training and support on Power BI and reports to encourage successful adoption and empower the business to create their own reports and visualisations.
  • Improving processes and automate processes where possible, by innovating and experimenting with data.
  • Adopting appropriate project management and agile techniques to ensure timely delivery.

The skills you'll be sharing with the team:

  • Recognised qualification or equivalent experience in; BA or BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or any similar discipline with a clear analytical bias
  • Hands on experience in manipulating and analysing large and complex data to solve business problems.
  • Competent at developing optimised and easy to navigate dashboards and reports using BI technologies such as PowerBI, Tableau, Looker or other data visualisation platforms.
  • Knowledge of creating Tabular Models and using DAX in either SSAS, Power BI or Power Pivot.
  • Knowledge of SQL and navigating SQL databases.
  • Awareness of agile techniques and processes.
  • Strong communicator with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing and prioritising stakeholder's requests and translating them into robust data solutions.
  • Knowledge of data governance best practices.
  • Experience of R and/or Python would be beneficial.
  • Experience of retail environment would be beneficial.
