Who You Are
- A recognised qualification in Social Work (Dip SW / CQSW / CSS) and registered with HCPC, maintaining and renewing registration appropriately.
- Minimum of three years post-qualified social work experience.
- Completed at least one post qualification module, with commitment to further education.
- In-depth knowledge of care assessment theory and practice; familiarity with relevant legislation, statutory frameworks, and practice teaching.
- Proficient IT skills for operating standard electronic systems. Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Sufficient knowledge and practice ability to independently manage a case from referral to closure.
- Proven coaching and mentoring skills, actively employed daily.
- Commitment to continual professional development and maintaining Advanced Social Work professional status through regular assessment.
What the Job Involves
- Undertake case management responsibility for complex cases, developing care packages with individuals, families, and agencies.
- Conduct assessments of needs, risks, and options for cases with complex/high-risk care needs.
- Intervene in emergency situations to protect vulnerable individuals, conducting investigations as needed.
- Provide advice and support, collaborating with social workers and multidisciplinary teams on complex cases.
- Develop and implement innovative working methods, contributing to service/policy development.
- Provide casework supervision, mentor newly qualified social workers, and contribute to staff induction and development.
- Foster relationships between Children's Services and external partners, supporting service provision.
- Chair meetings in the specialized field and represent the local authority in court proceedings and panels.
- Participate in project and development work, maintaining professional standards and promoting good practices.
- Responsible for the security of confidential materials and maintenance of records and reports.
- Work in environments with potential exposure to stressful and risky scenarios, including lone and agile working conditions.
- Adhere to Council policies regarding health, safety, equal opportunities, and safeguarding.
