Who You Are
- Possess experience in construction and maintenance, with knowledge of the most recent standards for asset management.
- Proficient in effective project and programme management (e.g., Prince2 or similar) with a track record of delivering various building works.
- Skilled in the preparation, scrutiny, and auditing of contracts, specifications, drawings, diagrams, and calculations.
- Experienced in managing and ensuring building compliance according to regulations and best practices.
- Able to leverage information technology, particularly asset data management software for compliance and reporting.
- A minimum of a university degree relevant to Building Engineering and Surveying, preferably with post-graduate studies.
- Full membership of a recognised professional organisation (e.g., RICS, MCIOB, MIET, MCIBSE, or MIMECH).
- Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 with the ability to apply it in the workplace.
- Capable of managing multiple projects, prioritising effectively, and contributing positively to discussions and team efforts.
What the Job Involves
- Provide a comprehensive surveying, maintenance and monitoring service, ensuring properties remain safe and operational.
- Carry out inspections and surveys, reporting on defects, legislation breaches, and DDA issues with recommendations and cost analysis.
- Engage in regular meetings to address issues, requests, and complaints, setting action plans and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical advice on proposals' feasibility, practicality, and cost, and participate in design discussions for new developments and repairs.
- Authorize building repairs and maintenance, monitoring progress to uphold workmanship standards.
- Prepare detailed documentation including reports, specifications, diagrams, and estimates for various projects and repairs.
- Manage emergency call-out services outside working hours on a rota basis, ensuring continuity of service.
- Monitor repair costs against budget, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, codes of practice, and council policies.
- Contribute to strategy and policy development, asset management processes, and ensuring data integrity in asset management systems.
- Assist in preparation and management of consultant briefs and project management processes, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
