Who You Are

As a Youth Justice Service Case Manager, you will have excellent skills in engaging and developing positive relationships with children and their families from diverse backgrounds. Understanding and implementing 'child first' principles, you will be knowledgeable about trauma-informed, restorative justice, and relational approaches. You possess significant experience in working with children and young people within social care or criminal justice settings, with a focus on safeguarding, risk, and child protection. You are well-versed in current childcare and youth justice legislation, have experience producing and presenting reports for the Courts, and are committed to achieving the best outcomes for children in Tower Hamlets and the City of London.

What the Job Involves

As a Case Manager, you will manage children aged 10-17 years old who have received community or custodial sentences. Your responsibilities include conducting high-quality assessments, preparing reports, devising intervention plans tailored to children's needs, and working in partnership with various professionals to reduce and prevent youth crime. You will supervise children subject to different statutory interventions, carry out duties in office and court settings, and contribute to monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure effective practice. Additionally, you will maintain detailed case records, participate in training, and support the development of team and specialist programmes, while adhering to the council's policies and promoting equality, non-discrimination, and sustainability.
