Who You Are

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Possess a degree or equivalent experience/skills, including relevant professional qualifications and licenses.
  • Expert knowledge of Health, Housing & Social Care legislation and relevant policies for safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • Proven ability in delivering adaptations through the Disabled Facilities Grant process and promoting independence through Reablement.
  • Experience with supervisory roles, including managing staff development and providing informal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across various stakeholders.
  • Advanced ICT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications and specialist systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, with a passion for high-quality customer-centric services.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to generate complex and accurate reports.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license and be able to travel to client locations as required.

What the Job Involves

  • Conducting occupational therapy assessments with customers to support independent living and achieve personal outcomes.
  • Developing support plans that comply with legislative and policy guidelines, particularly focusing on safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • Providing professional supervision to Level 2 Occupational Therapists and Customer Coordinators, promoting evidence-based practice.
  • Managing a complex caseload, ensuring interventions are timely and cost-effective while adhering to performance standards.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping and reporting in compliance with departmental targets.
  • Assessing for and facilitating adaptations to enable accessible environments per housing eligibility criteria.
  • Proactively contributing to team effectiveness by sharing knowledge and delivering training to support service development.
  • Participating in a Specialist Response rota, managing risks and prioritizing service delivery effectively.
  • Engaging in continual professional development, preparing for supervision and appraisal through self-evaluation.
  • Representing the council positively and professionally in all dealings with customers, partners, and external agencies.
  • Adhering to council policies on health and safety, equalities, and safeguarding vulnerable adults, reporting any concerns as necessary.
