- A dedicated professional with significant experience in first line management, particularly in financial and administrative roles.
- Proficient in the use of database systems, Microsoft applications, large spreadsheets, and electronic purchasing and accountancy systems like SAP.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information concisely.
- Organized with excellent time management skills, able to produce clear written material and analytical reports.
- Committed to delivering high-level customer service and achieving goals both personally and through enabling others.

What the Job Involves
- Providing managers with financial information, reports, trend commentary, and financial projections to aid in service delivery and planning.
- Assisting in procurement, tendering processes, and monitoring of performance data, financial, and management information.
- Developing and maintaining management information systems and contributing to the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of key service activities.
- Leading data gathering for FOI and other information requests, and managing the Direct Payment System including staff setup.
- Liaising with the Service Accountancy Team for budget spend and compliance with Financial Procedural Rules.
- Managing the Finance Team, including supervision, appraisal, recruitment, induction, disciplinary actions, and team development and morale.
- Ensuring fair work allocation and appropriate resource use within the support teams.
- Organizing and supporting policy implementation, developing consistent support services, and ensuring compliance with best practices and health and safety regulations.
- Providing cover for colleagues, undertaking project work, liaising with external agencies, and representing the Council at relevant meetings.
- Ensuring services are within a framework of Equal Opportunities and Anti-discriminatory practices.
- Complying with health and safety legislation, safeguarding policies, and participating in equality of opportunity practices.
- Undertaking other duties and responsibilities as required by the Head of Service.
