You are a qualified occupational therapist with a talent and ambition for achieving the best outcomes for people. You possess effective communication skills, compassion, and empathy to support those accessing our services. You have a solid theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge of occupational therapy, and understand the necessity of working in partnership with various agencies. You are flexible, use your initiative to support people, and are willing to travel across the county as needed. You have the physical capability to handle complex interventions and demonstrate knowledge through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). You will supervise unregistered practitioners, and mentor students and apprentices. Additionally, possessing a valid driving license is essential.

What the Job Involves

As a part of the Occupational Therapy service, you will conduct strengths-based assessments, apply relevant legislation, and utilize your skills to develop and implement personalized support plans aimed at enhancing wellbeing and achieving outcomes. You will manage a caseload in collaboration with people and their support networks. Your role includes conducting risk assessments, handling safeguarding concerns, and working closely with various agencies. You will provide supervision to assistants and mentoring to unregistered colleagues, ensuring adherence to HCPC standards and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists' guidelines. Additionally, you will implement interventions, prescribe equipment, and support home adaptations. You are expected to maintain accurate records, uphold confidentiality, and manage small expenditures when necessary. Continuous learning and development, including achieving post-qualifying awards, are expected to ensure the highest quality service. You will operate flexibly with a mix of home/office work, requiring a driving license and access to a vehicle.
