“Take time,” they say, when the world is crashing in around you and all seems hopeless.
“Take time,” they say, when all seems lost, we may never return to those halcyon days.
“Breathe,” they say, “Take time and focus. See the wind flowing through the trees, as it blows across the earth. The verdant foliage changes shade with the light.”
“Take time. See how the birds fly to and fro, always busy, taking joy in the thermal air diving and swooping. Chasing each other. Building their homes together.”
“Breathe,” they say. “See how the flowers colour our dull world, signalling to the bees that they are full of nectar.”
“Take time to breathe,” they say, “and notice nature burgeoning and beckoning and beautifying our world.”
Take time and breathe for all will be well. We are a miniscule part of the universe.
Take time and breathe, for we are meant to be.
A note from the author:
“During the lockdown I took part in a writing project called Love Letters to the World and this is one of those pieces.”
