Health and Care Volunteer (King's College Hospital, London)

For people leaving hospital, adjusting to life at home can be a difficult time. Helping someone get their essential shopping, pick up their prescription or get the heating turned on can make all the difference for them to feel safe at home. We are looking for someone who is able to: - Carry out at least one community visit per week between the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 Monday - Friday. - Must live within 1 hour travel distance of the hospital. - Have access to a phone. - Must have experience of dealing with vulnerable populations and understanding of empathy and diversity when delivering client facing support. - Good conversational skills both verbal and written is essential. - Are available to undertake required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions in the first few months of volunteering plus other service specific trainings as required. **Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.** **Diversity** Diversity is something we celebrate.
