Experienced fundraiser to support Revolving Doors - an award-winning national charity that drives reform to break the cycle of crisis and crime - to develop a new sustainable income stream through corporate partnerships and fundraising.

What will you be doing?

Objective of the role

The primary goal of this volunteering role is to support Revolving Doors to scope and develop a sustainable income stream through corporate partnerships and fundraising.

Scope of work

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to:

  • Conduct research to scope the UK corporate giving landscape and the interests of potential donors
  • Identify potential corporate donors and partners whose ESG goals align with our mission and values
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and our lived experience members to create compelling fundraising pitches and proposals that support us to deliver our strategic priorities, whilst meeting the needs, interests and goals of the potential corporate partner.

Resources and support

Revolving Doors will provide access to relevant organisational information plus time with Senior Leadership, relevant trustees and our Lived Experience Advisory Panel - our shadow board.

Timeline

The initial volunteer assignment is expected to be completed within 2-3 months, with regular check-in meetings to assess progress and provide support.

Outcome

The anticipated outcome of this volunteer assignment is:

  • Scoping paper setting out the UK corporate giving landscape and identifying a number of prioritized target donors
  • 1st corporate fundraising pitch and proposal.

This could become an ongoing volunteer role if this first assignment was a success for both parties.

What are we looking for?

Experienced fundraiser with knowledge of the UK corporate ESG world, existing relationships on which they can draw.

Demonstrable experience of securing grant funding from corporate foundations. As a bonus, a track record in securing funding for charities that do policy, public affairs and campaigning work, rather than direct service delivery with beneficiaries.

Knowledge the criminal justice sector isn't necessary, but you should be motivated and inspired by our mission and the way that we work with our lived experience members.

What difference will you make?

Your help and expertise will help us to adapt and to continue to survive, to deliver our mission of breaking the cycle of crisis and crime. For the last eight years trusts and foundations have accounted for 50% of our funding and almost all funding for our core policy and influencing work. However, the combination of increasing demand on funders, shifting priorities and a squeeze on endowments means that we cannot continue to rely on those long-standing funders to cover core costs. We're therefore looking for a volunteer to support us in scoping corporate foundations to build new relationships and revenue sources. Your knowledge of the corporate ESG world would be invaluable in supporting us to assess the viability of, and establish this new income stream.
