We are a leading food and beverage provider in travel locations such as Air, Rail and Motor Service areas across the UK and Ireland. We have some of the best-known brands in our portfolio, including M&S Simply Food, Starbucks and Burger King, which we operate under franchise arrangements. 

We also offer our own brands – such as Millie’s Cookies, AMT and Upper Crust. We’ve brought a number of popular British high street food and drink brands to the travel market, including LEON, BrewDog and The Breakfast Club, to provide a wide range of delicious food and beverages to meet our customers’ needs.

Darren Clarke - Onboarding Host

Darren Clarke has worked as an onboard host since 2017. Although this is a physically demanding role, Darren enjoys his job! For Darren no two days are the same and he gets the opportunity to use his service skills with the variety of customers he meets every day. 

Darren’s hard work has been recently recognized  in our monthly newsletter by our Onboard Services Manager, who wanted to thank Darren for the great work and suggestions on the Caroline train and for delivering his service with a real sense of professionalism, which is highly regarded by our client RMT and the on board crew at Loram.

Margaret – Team Leader

Margaret joined SSP in October 2011 at Sloe Bar Euston originally as a Kitchen Team Member. She had a strong ambition to further develop herself in her career. Margaret was promoted to Team Leader with the responsibility of running the kitchen, and the bar area alongside serving our customers . She also received multiple recognitions and excellent customer service.

As part her development, she was given additional responsibilities to train all newly recruited staff in the kitchen and customer services.

I love working with SSP as it allows  me to balance my family life along work with flexibility and there’s also opportunity to work in different locations. It’s possible to progress your career at SSP. I am now looking forward to what the future holds for me  here.”

Team Members

Our Team members are the face of SSP, greeting customers every day and delivering consistently great service. Being a team member means that you need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, you will also need to be friendly and professional when dealing with customers. At SSP we do provide training on customer service skills to help you deal with the number of different customers you may encounter on a daily basis. 

Management

Our managers are on hand at our locations to make sure the SSP experience is the best part of the customer’s journey.  To be a manager at SSP you need to have experience in managing a diverse team of people in a fast-paced and high volume environment. They also need to need to have knowledge around the standards and structed processes required to work within a globally recognised brand. Financial and commercial acumen and experience of the financial control are required when running a unit such as driving sales, P&L and Labour and waste management. These are a few of the requirements you may need, when apply for a role in management at SSP. 

Support Office

Our business support roles work behind the scenes to support and grow SSP at every level. These roles vary in their requirements as you will be working in our head office located in Camden, London or Parklands, Birmingham. Some of the roles which are available are in Operations, Human Resources, Finance and more.
