About this event

Balance is a critical component of movement and life. This session is an informative one and includes a demonstration of how to test and train your body to improve balance without the aid of a safety net.  In this session, presenter Stuart Gordon will cover 

  • The importance of balance, primarily in terms of efficient movement and falls prevention.
  • Some stats and costs on treating falls
  • The neural systems and how it controls balance
  • Studies linking poor balance to dementia and general health.

Meet the host

After importing apples into the UK (you can thank Stuart for Pink Lady apples being available) Stuart trained as a Sports Therapist (Dip Phys. Ed., ITEC Sports Therapist, Anatomy Trains Fascial Release and Structural Bodyworker) and set up practice in 1992. Since then he has treated golfers, runners, equestrians, ballet dancers, professional singers, musicians and numerous others who have suffered from aches and pains associated with work, play and life in general. Stuart has his own practice and is also a distributor of Barefoot Science Insoles.
