Salary £26,996.00 per annum

Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week

At Oakhill Secure Training Centre we look after young people aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The vulnerable young people in our care can be challenging with a wide range of social and emotional complex needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for young people to develop their life skills and address the behaviours that have led them into custody.

Oakhill Secure Training Centre works closely with the Youth Custody Services to ensure that its regimes and designs reflect best practice in residential care to prevent offending.

The role of the Resettlement Administrator is to provide an effective and efficient administration service to the Resettlement Team alongside acting as the lead for all Court matters at Oakhill STC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a full administrative service so that the needs of the functional/departmental team are met.
  • Maintain effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner that meets audit requirements.
  • Keep records of court appearances and ensure transport is booked appropriately for these using various online booking systems.
  • Ensure Custodial Warrants are accurate and up to date.
  • ▪Liaise with Resettlement Caseworkers in relation to upcoming Court Appearances.
  • Organise and co-ordinate meetings, diaries, events and travel arrangements ensuring individual and functional/departmental objectives are met including the taking of minutes.
  • Maintain comprehensive stocks of all forms and documentation required by the function/department so that it is available when required.
  • Collate, produce, maintain and distribute regular and ad-hoc statistics and reports using Excel so that individuals and departments receive accurate up to date information.
  • Deal with all routine phone queries so that an appropriate response is provided.
  • Collate and distribute information and reports on programme team activity to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Type up any minutes or documents as required by the Resettlement Team.
  • Upload documents to electronic case management system and Youth Justice Framework.
  • Making of case files and dead filing/archiving at the end of the Young People's orders.
  • Work collaboratively with admin from other departments and to provide cover where/when necessary.
  • Undertake Sentence Calculation Training and hold responsibility for the administration in relation to this.
  • Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture across the site leading by example, this includes reporting accidents and near misses in a timely manner & follow the applicable safe systems of work for the role

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to use Google Docs, Sheets and Email

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within a residential child-care environment or the Secure Estate.
